UBS: Apple Sold 69.3m iPhones Last Quarter, A Third Of Which Came From China

iPhone-6-review-5We know that Apple has managed to sell a lot of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units ever since it has been released, and new numbers released by UBS has revealed that the Cupertino company has managed to sell 69.3 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2014, ultimately setting an all-time record for Apple.

However what makes it more interesting is the fact that China accounts for more iPhone shipments than the US, which is a first. Based on UBS’ estimates, China accounted for about 35% of iPhone shipments. This is a huge leap from last year in the same quarter in which China only accounted for 22% of iPhone sales.

As for the US, their sales have increased from 24% to 29% year on year. However we should note that shipments does not necessarily indicate sales, but it is a sign that there is a huge demand for the product, otherwise why would Apple bother sending in that much shipment to a market with no demand, right?

What makes China’s figures even more impressive is the fact that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was released later than the US, so for China to overtake the US in iPhone shipments in such a short period of time says a lot about the Chinese market, and it is also understandable as to why Apple would want to focus on developing their brand further in the country.
