Fitbit Owners Still Complaining Of Rashes, Fitbit Responds

fitbit-charge-statementIf you’re the type that loves tracking their daily steps, calories, and other health-related biometrics, then wearing your fitness band all day is probably one way to ensure you collect as much data on yourself as possible. However it seems that this is something that Fitbit is advising its users not to do.

It has been recently revealed that there are still complaints from Fitbit owners that they are experiencing rashes after wearing the company’s products. Fitbit is aware of this and in a statement released to Re/code, they suggest that it isn’t so much a problem with their products, but rather how long the wearer has been wearing it, and how they are wearing it.

“We continue to be aware of a very limited percentage of users reporting skin irritation among our users. According to our consulting dermatologists, they are likely from wearing the band too tight; sweat, water, or soap being held against the skin under the device; or from pressure or friction against the skin,” says a Fitbit spokeswoman.

Some of you might recall that early last year, Fitbit Force owners were complaining of rashes appearing on their skin after wearing the company’s product. The Force fitness bands were later recalled for precautionary measures although Fitbit was hit with a lawsuit all the same, and it seems that a year later the company is still faced with the same issues, but what do you guys think? Is it Fitbit’s fault, or as the spokeswoman suggests, could it be that Fitbit owners are wearing their devices wrongly and for too long?
