Sledgehammer Could Recreate Classic Call Of Duty Maps In Advanced Warfare

The developer of the latest iteration of the Call of Duty franchise, Sledgehammer Games, is looking at opportunities to recreate some of the most classic Call of Duty maps in Advanced Warfare. Released late last year, Advanced Warfare is set in the future, where a private military contractor goes rogue against the state. There are plenty of technological advancements apart from those exosuits that characters in the game take to the battlefield.

Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey tells VG247 that players of the latest Havoc DLC have been asking them how Exo abilities and verticality can be brought over to some of the franchise’s classic maps.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Havoc DLC was released only recently for PlayStation 4 and the PC. It was first released on the Xbox One as part of an exclusivity deal.

Condrey says that they’re taking a look at some opportunities to make this happen, like they did with Atlas Gorge, but doesn’t outright confirm that this will happen let alone provide an estimated timeframe in which players can expect classic maps to arrive supporting vertical gameplay mechanics that are integral to the Advanced Warfare experience.

Additional DLC packs will be released for this title in the coming months. The possibility exists that those packs might bring some classic franchise maps that Advanced Warfare gamers are anxiously waiting for.
