Usually an Android device will not receive a major software update if it’s more than two years old but that fact hasn’t stopped Galaxy Note 2 owners from hoping that someday they too might get an official Lollipop update. Samsung certainly hasn’t made it easy for them since there have been conflicting reports regarding the Galaxy Note 2 Android 5.0 update from regional branches of the company. It seems that Samsung has plans to release Lollipop for this handset only in selected markets.

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of back and forth on this issue, with some regional arms of Samsung claiming that Note 2 will absolutely not be receiving the update while others claiming that it most certainly will.

Naturally this is making things confusing for users who just want the latest and greatest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system on their handset.

Responding to a query about the Lollipop status for the Note 2, the official Samsung Denmark Twitter account revealed through Twitter that the update’s availability will vary as per the market but also confirmed that Danish Note 2 units with CSC code NEE will get the Android 5.0 update.

Samsung Denmark’s Twitter account didn’t confirm though precisely when this update is going to be released for the Galaxy Note 2 in that particular market.
