Video Of BlackBerry Handset Running Android Appears Online

There has been a lot of speculation regarding BlackBerry’s future with many saying that the company should just start making Android devices if it wants to survive in the very competitive mobile market. Much evidence has surfaced recently to hint that the company might be working on something along the same lines, today a video has appeared online which shows the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition running Android.

Just yesterday several pictures of the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition running Android were posted online, the full video is now available for your viewing pleasure and it gives us a good look at the settings as well as the Google Play Store.

Rumor has it that the company will release this device as the Passport 2 next year if its Android-powered Venice slider does well this year, but for all we know BlackBerry could be using this device as a testbed to run tests on the software before it’s pushed out with the Venice.

Nevertheless it has been rumored multiple times that an Android-powered Passport might be in the pipeline as well, so who knows, perhaps the company might launch one next year.

BlackBerry has never denied the possibility that it could make an Android device but the company’s CEO has made it clear on multiple occasions that they will only do so if they can make the device completely secure.

Recent evidence shows that BB’s Android-powered devices won’t be your run-of-the-mill Android handsets, rather they will feature heavy software customization and BB’s own software features for a completely unique experience.
