Huawei Mate S Will Respond To You When You Call For It

The Huawei Mate S was launched earlier this month. It packs a ton of features including its own version of Force Touch, essentially beating Apple to the punch. That being said, it would seem that the Huawei Mate S also borrows from one of the features of the Huawei P8, and that is you can call out to the phone if you’ve misplaced it.

What do we mean by this? Let’s say you’re at home and you forgot where you put your phone. Instead of calling it with another device, you can instead just start yelling a keyword that would trigger the phone. This keyword is chosen when you’re setting up voice commands on the handset.

What happens when the phone detects the keyword is that it starts flashing lights, sounds, and will even repeatedly say, “I’m here,” so that you can follow the sound to locate your device. Of course all of this is assuming that your phone is within range of your voice. If you’ve left your device in the office and you’re yelling out for it from home, that obviously wouldn’t work.

It’s a pretty nifty albeit novel feature, but perhaps for those of us who are particularly forgetful, this might come in handy. In the meantime you can watch the video above to see the feature in action on the Huawei P8.
