Additional Timex Metropolitan+ Fitness Watch Details Revealed

timex metropolitan plusA couple of days ago, Timex briefly announced their plans to get into the wearable industry with the Timex Metropolitan+. Unfortunately at that time apart from a somewhat blurry photo shared on stage via a presentation slide, not much was known about the watch save for the fact that it would largely resemble your typical analog watch.

However if you were a bit curious and wanted to know more, you’re in luck because Timex has since put out a press release detailing some of the features of the watch along with its price. For starters the Timex Metropolitan+ will look and function like an analog watch. However under the hood, the watch will be able to track the number of steps you’ve taken, distance you’ve walked/run, and the number of calories burned.

The dials on the face of the watch will be able to tell you all the information you need at a glance. That data will also be stored on a smartphone app that you can pair with via Bluetooth. Timex also claims that the watch will not require charging, and while battery life was not mentioned, we can only assume it will last as long as a regular analog watch.

The watch will come in two styles: one is more of a formal-ish design with a silver case and a leather strap. The other sports a black case and will come with either a silicone or nylon strap, depending on your needs. Availability was not mentioned, but they will be priced at $150 and $125 respectively.
