However the good news is that if you’d rather try to avoid sending out what might be perceived as a rude email, you’re in luck thanks to a web app called FoxType. Basically what the app does is that it tries to help you make your emails sound more polite. How it works is by assessing your tone and suggesting some replacements to help make you sound less rude.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the app spits out suggestions on the style of the phrasing, the words used, and what kind of words you might want to replace it with. Of course it isn’t 100% accurate and we suppose it will also depend on who you’re sending the email to, since friends might not care so much about your tone versus sending emails to your boss or clients.
FoxType is also available as a Gmail plugin so you can use its services while you type your email instead of having to paste it in the textbox. If you’d like to check it out, hit up the FoxType website for the details.
