Galaxy S7 Launch Reportedly Slated For January 2016

Samsung strayed a bit from tradition this time around when it announced the Galaxy Note 5 prior to IFA 2015, the IFA conventional has usually been the place where Samsung has announced the new Galaxy Note handset for the past few years. This has led many to believe that perhaps the company will also announce the Galaxy S7 ahead of schedule next year, and a new report out of Korea claims that Samsung might be looking at January 2016 for the Galaxy S7 launch.

The report from Korea claims that Galaxy S7 launch will take place in January next year, the handset is said to come in “premium” and “sub-premium” variants, the report claims that January 19th is the precise launch date for the Galaxy S7.

If this is true then the launch will take place a few weeks before Mobile World Congress 2016 which has usually been the venue for new Galaxy S handsets to be unveiled, since Samsung doesn’t confirm anything so far in advance, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt at least for the time being.

Previous reports suggest that as many as three different variants of the Galaxy S7 might be launched, each having a different processor based on market needs, with a USB Type-C port, 3D Touch-like technology and perhaps even a dual-camera setup on the back with a 20 megapixel sensor.
