Droid Turbo 2 Undergoes Marshmallow Soak Test

droid turbo 2If you happen to be a proud owner of the Droid Turbo 2 from Motorola, you know, the handset that CNN put to the test concerning its ShatterShield screen, then you would be pleased to know that there are still some legs left in the device, which means you need not make the upgrade to the new Samsung Galaxy S7 just yet, as a soak test of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has now been released.

While some Droid Turbo 2 owners have already claimed to have picked up the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, chances are it is a soak test. For those who have picked it up, they claim that it comprises of two segments – where the second one would bump up the software to version 24.14.10.

With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it will deliver Doze to the Droid Turbo 2. Basically, whenever the handset ends up inactive for a certain amount of time, it will then enter into a deep sleep state which will shut down all of the apps which run in the background. This in turn would increase the battery’s standby time, while ensuring that your battery last longer. Apart from that, this update will also enable users to allow or deny app permissions based on a feature-by-feature basis.
