This particular device was first announced at the 2016 CES consumer electronics show earlier this year over in Las Vegas in January, and it is set to launch later this July. Chief Executive Yang Yuanqing did not provide any more extra information concerning the upcoming smartphone though, although he did make mention that Google’s Project Tango technology will be part of it – and then some.
Just to refresh our memories, Project Tango happens to merge 3D motion tracking alongside depth sensors in order to provide a mobile device the ability to know just where it is as well as how it gets up and about in a particular area, resulting in the potential to harness the power of augmented reality features on the handset itself. Looks like we will have to wait for July to see the real deal in action.
