Every single app will need an update from time to time in order to improve, that is for sure, otherwise it will simply stagnate and enter into app oblivion as the world moves on to the next big thing. Google-owned Waze is an app that has greatly helped drivers all over the world to get to their destination in the shortest time possible, making our lives more efficient, but even Waze needs an update once in a while. We bring good news then, that Waze 4.0 for Android has just launched on Google Play.

Earlier this month, it was mentioned that Waze for Android is in the pipeline for something fancy, a major update and the ilk, and thankfully for Android users of Waze, they did not have to wait too long. Waze 4.0, beng officially available on Google Play, will bring along with it a slew of changes. Waze claims to have “significantly” reduced battery consumption, at the same time boasting of a totally redesigned reporting menu where one shares road information with other drivers.

Apart from that, the changelog also reports the need for less taps, which means it takes even fewer taps to begin a drive from the moment Waze boots up, as well as when you send locations and obtain directions. There is a new ETA panel that will show you all the relevant information in a single place, too.
