Galaxy Note Edge Gets Marshmallow On Verizon

Verizon has finally started rolling out the much-awaited Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note Edge on its network. Big Red has taken its sweet time in bringing this update to the Note Edge, but now that it’s here, users will just be glad to have the latest iteration of Android on their device. It’s not unusual for users to have to wait for updates to arrive, no wonder Android 6.0 Marshmallow is only powering some 10 percent of all Android devices even though it’s been out for almost a year.

The Galaxy Note Edge Marshmallow update has been released by Verizon ahead of the official release of Google’s next major Android release: Android N. The company is yet to confirm when the new OS will be out, or what it’s going to be called.

Galaxy Note Edge now gets everything that’s part and parcel of Marshmallow in this release. Improvements have been made to the user interface, notifications experience, app permissions, and there’s a Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, and much more. The update removes the Amazon Music app and adds support for Android for Work.

Verizon is rolling out this update over-the-air so users should see an update notification shortly if they haven’t already.
