Google Play Family Library Lets You Share Purchases With Family

Google is making it very easy for members of a family to share the stuff they purchase on Google Play. The company today announced a new feature called Google Play Family Library which allows up to six members of a family to share their Google Play purchases. Whenever a user purchases an eligible app, movie, TV show, game or book in the Play Store they will be able to share it across different devices for their family members for free.

There are no additional signups required. Google Play Family Library just works, it enables instant sharing of purchased content among family members.

All purchases that are added to the Family Library and available instantly across all Android devices, while movies, TV shows, and books can also be accessed on iOS devices and on the web.

Users can choose which items they want to share to the Family Library and which they want to keep to themselves. It’s also possible to share a credit card as a family payment method while each family member retains the option to purchase content using their own credit or gift cards. There’s also the option to make purchases made by kids subject to approval.

Google Play Family Library will be rolling out over the next few days in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Interested users can sign up here.
