One of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would be the fact that it is water resistant, and recently this was put to a test by the folks at GizmoSlip on YouTube when they encased the phone in a block of ice. However they then took it to the next level by dropping the block of ice with the Galaxy Note 7 inside from 100 feet.
So the question is, did the Galaxy Note 7 survive the drop? Surprisingly yes. The phone managed to survive the freezing process and the drop, and the best part is that it came away completely unscathed! This is surprising because in previous tests, we’ve seen how the Galaxy Note 7’s display appeared to be less sturdy than its predecessors.
This is despite the fact that the handset is supposed to pack a Gorilla Glass 5 display which is supposed to be stronger and more resilient than its previous iterations, but if anything we guess this video kind of helps redeem the phone’s toughness. Of course not all of us will be dropping Galaxy Note 7’s encased in ice, but it does speak to its hardiness.
