Google Releases Data Outage Fix For The Nexus 6

nexus-6-review-heroIf you owned the Nexus 6 and you have been experiencing some connectivity issues, you’re not alone. In a post on the Nexus Help Forums (via Android Police), several Nexus 6 owners have been complaining about their phones losing data connectivity, and that the only way to fix it is to reboot their phones. Obviously this is not a long-term solution and highly inconvenient.

The good news is that it looks like Google has since fixed it. According to Google, “Thanks for all of the information you have provided. It has been extremely helpful while the team was investigating and working towards a fix. We have made a few changes on our end, and the issue with GPS causing cellular connectivity to fail should now be resolved. If you are still experiencing problems, please restart your device.”

It is unclear as to what exactly caused the problem, as in the specifics, but whatever the case is we’re sure that Nexus 6 owners will be pleased that it has since been addressed. Several users who complained about the issue are on T-Mobile, but it seems that this had nothing to do with the carrier as users from Australia experienced similar issues.

The update will be pushed in the background meaning that users won’t need to do anything on their end. However if you are still experiencing some issues, maybe you can try rebooting your phone and see if that helps.
