Apple Introduces New Pricing For AppleCare+ Screen Replacement

iPhone_7_Plus_JetBlackFor those of you who are prone to damaging your devices, Apple has long offered the AppleCare+ repair program to customers, in which for a price, Apple will cover repairs for damages done to your phone. In case you weren’t familiar, Apple charged $99 for current-gen repairs, and $79 for previous-gen repairs.

Now just yesterday Apple announced their new iPhones, and while they did not publicize it, the folks at 9to5Mac noticed some changes made to the AppleCare+ program. For starters there is now a new tier which covers just screen replacements only which you can purchase for $29, which we have to admit is kind of a steal if your previous breakages have typically been your phone’s display.

This means that you no longer have to pay $79-99 for screen repairs. However if you’d prefer a more well-rounded coverage, in the event that something else could go wrong, Apple has done away with the $79 fee, meaning that AppleCare+ will now cost $99 regardless of which generation your device is.

We should note that Apple already provides a one year coverage for hardware repairs, so AppleCare+ is for those of you who might prefer extending it beyond the first year. If you’d like to check out the AppleCare+ program for the iPhone, then hit up Apple’s website for the details.
