iPhone 7 Jailbreak Already Possible

It has only been a week or so since the iPhone 7 was released and it appears that handset has already been cracked. Well known hacker and security researcher Luca Tedesco posted a photo on his Twitter account to show off his iPhone 7 jailbreak. However, he hasn’t provided much information about it yet and appears to be keeping the exploit to himself. It can’t be said for sure if and when Tedesco will release this iPhone 7 jailbreak to the public.

Tedesco has posted a picture of the iPhone 7 on his Twitter account, it’s a matte black iPhone that’s running iOS 10.0.1 with Cydia 1.1.26 installed. This goes to show that an iPhone 7 jailbreak is indeed possible.

This jailbreak has most likely been achieved via a software exploit so in theory the exploit might exist on other iOS devices as well. The same method could also be used to jailbreak other devices that are compatible with this version of iOS.

From the looks of it, Tedesco is not going to be divulging any more information about this iPhone 7 jailbreak, particularly about how he was able to achieve it. However, there are plenty of other players in this arena particularly the China-based Pangu group continues to release new jailbreaks for iOS devices.

It remains to be seen how long they will take to release an iPhone 7 jailbreak, the Pangu team have not provided an update on their efforts yet.
