It has not even been a couple of months since the Sony Xperia X Performance was released in the United States and the company has already decided to cut this handset’s price. It’s being sold unlocked and off-contract through the company’s retail partners. Sony initially sold the Xperia X Performance for $699.99 and has now reduced the price by ten percent.

Starting today, the Sony Xperia X Performance can be purchased unlocked and off contract for $629.99. Sony’s retail partners that are selling this device include Amazon, B&H Photo, Best Buy, and Reagan Wireless.

The company will be hoping that this $70 discount entices more customers to put money down for this handset, however, some still might find $629.99 to big of an ask upfront. Nevertheless, it’s a great option for those who want a high-end smartphone unlocked and off contract, they can save some money in the process.

The handset has a 5 inch Full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor underneath. It also has a 23 megapixel rear camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and a 13 megapixel front camera tweaked for great selfies in low-light conditions.

Sony Xperia X Performance is fashioned out of metal and does have a premium look and feel to it. However, features like 4K video recording and a fingeprint sensor that one might expect from a high-end smartphone in this day and age are missing from this particular device in the United States.
