Android Nougat Update Halted For The Galaxy S7

android nougatLast week we reported that Samsung had begun rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets. This was after the update had undergone beta testing. However it seems that over in China, the update’s rollout has been halted according to the reports.

Instead it seems that a new beta release with build number G9350ZCU2ZQA4 has been released in its place. It is unclear as to why the update was halted, but some have suggested that it could be due to bugs that were discovered in the update. The changelog in the new beta for China says that it will add stability and performance enhancements, as well as a new enhanced power saving mode.

We’re not sure if these alleged bugs only affect those in China since it is where the reports are coming from, but so far there hasn’t been anything major with the update that users are complaining about. Hopefully it isn’t anything too bad, but we guess it must have been serious enough for Samsung to halt the update.

It is unclear if other markets are affected by the halt but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any additional reports of bugs or issues with the update. In the meantime if you are now receiving a beta instead of the final Nougat release, do let us know in the comments below.
