Galaxy S6 Nougat Update Release In India Taking Place Now

Samsung finally started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge last week. The update was initially rolled out by some carriers in Europe but the company is now gradually expanding it to other markets across the globe. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Android 7.0 Nougat update release in India is taking place now. Multiple reports have confirmed that the firmware is now rolling out in the country.

It goes without saying that those who own these handsets in India will be excited about finally getting a taste of the latest version of Android OS. Samsung has already updated the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to Nougat in the country and now it has taken care of the 2016 flagship as well.

The update brings everything that you’ve come to expect from Nougat. Users will get an improved Doze mode, enhanced notifications experience, a revamped user interface, a redesigned status bar, and many other new features.

The update is being rolled out gradually so it may take a while before it goes live for all Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners in India. It’s a hefty file, weighing in at around 1.3GB, so it will certainly require a good internet connection.
