Unlocked Galaxy S7 Nougat Update Released In The U.S.

U.S. customers who purchased the unlocked Galaxy S7 haven’t been happy with the way Samsung has been releasing updates for this device. It has taken the company months just to release a recent security patch not to mention the fact that those customers have had to wait for an unreasonably long time to get Nougat. Their wait ends today, though, as the unlocked Galaxy S7 is now receiving the Nougat update in the United States.

Many unlocked Galaxy S7 owners in the country have taken to Reddit to confirm that they have now received an over-the-air update notification which finally bumps up their device to the latest release of Android.

A similar thread on Reddit suggests that the unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge is receiving the same update to Nougat in the United Kingdom as well, so that’s more customers that Samsung has finally made happy.

It’s being rolled out over-the-air and since it’s a major update, it weighs in at around 1.2GB. Users have to ensure that they’re connected to a Wi-Fi network before they start downloading the update.

Hopefully, Samsung won’t make customers of the unlocked Galaxy S7 wait for an unreasonably long time for any and all future updates.
