You Can Now Add Photos To Instagram Stories From Mobile Web

Instagram wants more people using its Stories feature, the same feature that it cloned from Snapchat and now boasts more users for. The Facebook-owned service today announced that users can now post photos to Instagram Stories from mobile web. They won’t be able to access many of the advanced features that are available in the app, but at least they can post photos via mobile web now.

Instagram.com users on mobile web will now see a camera icon at the top left of their feed. They can tap on it to take a photo or to add one from their library. They can also add text and change the text’s color.

That’s the extent of the customization that they’re allowed on mobile web. Advanced features like augmented reality filters will only be available in the app.

Nevertheless, this is an improvement for mobile web users who could only view Stories previously. Even though they can post photos now, videos can not be posted via the web.

Users can also save posts that they want to check out later. The bookmark icon at the top right corner of the page needs to be tapped to access all of the saved photos.

Instagram has confirmed that both new features will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
