Samsung Reportedly Working On A Compact Bezel-Less Smartphone

Almost all of Samsung’s recent devices in its low-end, mid-range, and high-end segments have displays of 5 inches or more. The company isn’t really into compact devices anymore but if a new report out of China is believed, the company might be working on a compact bezel-less smartphone with a display size of less than 5 inches.

This is the first that we’re hearing about the possibility of Samsung working on a new compact smartphone with a bezel-less display. The company hasn’t even expanded its bezel-less display to mid-range handsets as yet, let alone its low-end offerings.

The report doesn’t mention anything about this unnamed handset’s specification as well. Given that it’s claimed to have a display of under 5 inches, one can reasonably assume that it’s not the Galaxy A5 (2018) or Galaxy A7 (2018), given that they’re said to feature a 5.5 inch and 5.7 inch display respectively.

One can speculate that perhaps it might be the Galaxy S9 Mini but that’s nothing more than wishful thinking right now. No evidence has surfaced so far to suggest that the company might be working on a Galaxy S9 Mini, given that we’ve not yet seen a Galaxy S8 Mini as well.

The report does claim that even though Samsung is working on this device, it can’t be said for sure right now whether the company is actually going to release it.

So it looks like we’ll have to wait for some time to find out how this plays out.
