Google Home Max Is Now Available For Purchase

Back in October, Google took the wraps off a couple of new Google Home devices, like the Google Home Mini and the Home Max. The Home Mini has since been released, but the Home Max was scheduled for a later release. The good news is that if you were holding out for the larger device, you’ll be pleased to learn that it is now available for purchase.

According to Google, “Google Home Max sounds pretty amazing right out of the box because it’s our first speaker with Smart Sound. Powered by Google’s artificial intelligence (AI), Smart Sound means Max can automatically adapt itself based on where it’s placed in the room. There’s no extra setup or testing required. Even if you move Max from one spot to another, it’ll continuously tune itself to the room, so your music will sound one step closer to the studio.”

The Home Max is essentially a larger version of the Google Home, except that Google is boasting that it will offer up “premium” sound, thanks to the two 4.5-inch woofers built into the speakers, which Google claims will allow for it to be 20 times more powerful than the regular Google Home.

However apart from the louder and supposedly better sound, the Home Max is essentially the same as the Home in terms of its smart functions. It has access to Google Assistant and can do pretty much what the Home and Home Mini does, so really this seems like it’s catered towards those who want better sound and smart functionality. It does not come cheap and is priced at $399 and is available via the Google Store.
