Fujifilm X-H1 Mirrorless Camera Officially Announced

After hearing rumors and seeing a bunch of leaks, it looks like Fujifilm has officially announced their next camera, the Fujifilm X-H1. This is a camera which Fujifilm is calling “the best performance camera” in their X-series lineup, which is actually saying a lot given that the X-T2 and X-Pro2 are some of the more highly-rated mirrorless cameras today.

However as per the rumors, it seems that the X-H1 has been designed with videographers in mind, something that Fujifilm has readily admitted in its press release. This is thanks to features like a 5-axis in-body image stabilizer, a flicker reduction mode, and also a new ETERNA mode which is a film simulation mode that supposedly makes it “ideal” for shooting movies.

Fujifilm has also announced that the camera will be compatible with upcoming professional cinema lenses, such as the MKX18-55mmT2.9 and MKX50-135mmT2.9, and given that it is an X-mount camera, it will also play nicely with other Fujifilm XF and XC lenses. Also the in-body image stabilization also means that if you have a lens that does not have image stabilization, it won’t be an issue.

Other features of the X-H1 include a 24.3MP sensor, an ISO range of 200-12,800, a 3-inch touchscreen LCD, 11fps continuous shooting with mechanical shutter (14fps with electronic shutter), 4K movie recording, and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity options. In terms of pricing and availability, the Fujifilm X-H1 will be released on the 1st of March, 2018 where it will be priced starting at $1,900 for the body-only.
