Verizon HTC 10 Gets Android 8.0 Oreo

Android 8.0 Oreo is gradually making its way to more devices. There are still a lot of Android-powered smartphones and tablets that have yet to be updated to Oreo even though Google will be unveiling Oreo’s successor in the near future. Verizon today started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo for the HTC 10 on its network.

The HTC 10 was originally released back in 2016 and it has received decent software support since then. The device has been updated from Marshmallow to Nougat and now it’s getting Android 8.0 Oreo. Verizon is now rolling out Oreo for this handset on its network, it’s going to take some time before update lands on other variants of this handset as well.

Verizon has released software version 3.18.605.13 for the HTC 10 and it brings all of the features that are part and parcel of Oreo. This includes the picture-in-picture mode, autofill, notification dots, and user interface tweaks. The new lighter Oreo system theme that’s normally seen on stock devices has also been adopted by HTC. The latest security patch is included in this update as well.

HTC 10 owners on Verizon should receive an over-the-air notification on their handsets soon notifying them that the Oreo update is now available to download. They can also try manually pulling the update by heading to the update menu from the settings app.
