Chase Pay Accounts Can Now Be Linked To Samsung Pay

One major advantage that Samsung Pay has over other mobile payments services is that it doesn’t just rely on NFC. It supports MST or Magnetic Secure Transmission technology as well which enables the service to work with any conventional card reader. Vendors don’t require special terminals to accept Samsung Pay. The service can now be linked to Chase Pay so that users can rely on the MST technology to make payments with Chase Pay on the go as well.

Starting today, Chase Pay users can launch the Samsung Pay app on a compatible Samsung device and link their accounts. Once the accounts are linked, they can use Chase Pay as the primary payment app on the device. The will be able to use the app to make payments with NFC or MST.

Samsung has kept its MST chip exclusive to the Samsung Pay app ever since the service was announced. This is the first time that it has allowed another payments service to access the chip in order to provide users with more flexibility. It leaves the door open for similar partnerships with other banks and financial institutions down the line.

The partnership between Samsung Pay and Chase Pay isn’t just limited to the MST chip. Any payments made using Chase Pay once the accounts are linked will also net users Samsung Rewards points and Chase Ultimate Rewards points for all transactions.
