Honor Magic 2 Teased With Sliding Camera And Entirely Bezel-Less Design

Huawei’s Honor sub-brand teased an interesting device on stage at IFA 2018. The device is called the Honor Magic 2 and it’s the successor to the Honor Magic that was released in 2016. It’s going to be a lot different from that device, though. The company claims that the Honor Magic 2 will have a nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio.

You might be wondering how this would be possible and where the front-facing camera would go if the display doesn’t have a notch. Honor is utilizing a method that we have previously seen on the Oppo Find X.

The camera will be integrated into a slider that comes up as and when required. This leaves room on the front for the display to be stretched as much as possible to achieve that truly bezel-less display.

The screen-to-body ratio claims are yet to be substantiated because the company hasn’t exactly showcased the device. It merely gave a glimpse of it during the IFA press conference since the launch itself isn’t due for a few months at least.

No further details are available about the specs of this device but it’s believed to be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor which would make it a flagship-level device. It’s also unclear how much this device might cost when it does arrive.

It’s certainly going to command a lot of attention when it does arrive.
