Bang & Olufsen Unveil David Lynch-Designed Special Edition Speakers

Bang & Olufsen’s speakers are known for their design, where despite their choice for odd and modern-looking shapes, their speakers have typically exuded a very muted and toned down look in terms of colors. However for those who wouldn’t mind seeing the company expand their design portfolio and offerings, you’re in luck.

The company has recently announced a collaboration with David Lynch where several of the company’s speaker lineups have been given a new design featuring artwork by Lynch. This includes the Beoplay A9, Beoplay M5, and the Beoplay P2, which as you can see in the image above, will feature covers that sport art by Lynch.

According to the company, “Bang & Olufsen is proud to announce a special edition speaker collection with artwork by director, screenwriter, actor, artist and musician David Lynch. The collection features selected images and details from the ‘War Between the Shapes’ series, works on paper created by the iconic artist in the 1970s and from the “Paris Suite” lithographs created in 2007 at the renowned Idem studio.”

Note that these speakers will be limited in their availability which means that you probably need to hurry if you are thinking about picking one up for yourself. As expected given their limited availability, the speakers are priced higher than usual. For example the Beoplay M5 can typically be found for around $600 on Amazon, but the Lynch designed version is retailing for $750.
