Honor Magic 2 Goes Official With Six Cameras And A Slider

Honor teased its new device a couple of months ago. It gave us a peek of how it’s going to ditch the notch. Honor’s solution involves a slider that houses the components that you would find on the notch. The Honor Magic 2 has now been officially launched today. It comes with a grand total of six cameras.

The device is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s a 6.39 inch 1080p resolution AMOLED display with a screen to body ratio of 91.5 percent, according to Huawei’s sub-brand. It can hit this ratio since it doesn’t have a front camera and sensors on the bezel. All of that is on the sliding mechanism that comes up from the back.

There’s no home button on the device as well. That’s the case with modern smartphones. It comes with a display-based fingerprint sensor which isn’t surprising as this technology has really been pushed by Chinese manufacturers this year.

There’s a triple camera system at the back with a 16MP primary sensor, a 16MP wide angle sensor, and a 24 megapixel black and white sensor. There are three cameras at the front as well. A 16 megapixel sensor coupled with two 2 megapixel sensors.

All of this is powered by a 3,500mAh battery. The device will be available in multiple color options with prices starting at $550. No word as yet when it will arrive outside China.
