Amazon Fire TV Stick Gets New Remote That Can Control Your TV

Amazon offers a variety of different Fire TV streaming devices but the most affordable option in the lineup is the Fire TV Stick. It retails for $39.99 and can instantly transform your conventional TV into a smart TV upon being plugged into the HDMI port. Amazon is now shipping the Fire TV Stick with its upgraded Alexa voice control. It comes with IR blasters so the remote can also be used to control your TV.

The new remote expands functionality quite a bit. It allows users to control power, volume, mute, and more on the TV directly using the one single remote. It will certainly make life a lot easier for users since they won’t have to keep track of two remotes whenever they’re watching content through the Fire TV Stick.

Amazon previously used to ship this remote with the slightly more expensive $49.99 Fire TV Stick 4K. It’s now offering this to customers who purchase the basic model and this step will surely be much appreciated.

Nothing has been changed on the Fire TV Stick itself so even if you just bought one a couple of months ago, don’t fret, you’re not losing out on much. It will be available for purchase starting tomorrow.
