Verizon 5G Network Will Be Deployed To 30 Cities In 2019

2019 is the year that 5G takes off. Carriers in the United States will soon be flipping the switch on their commercial networks. Smartphone manufacturers have already started unveiling devices that will be capable of running on those networks. To that end, Verizon has announced that it will be deploying its 5G network in 30 cities across the United States this year.

Verizon outlined its 5G strategy for 2019 at an investor conference this week. It confirmed that the carrier is going to deploy its 5G network in 30 cities across the country this year. However, Verizon didn’t specify the cities at the conference so it remains to be seen which markets will be the ones to get the 5G network.

The company added that Verizon 5G Mobility is going to be launched in the first half of this year while Verizon 5G Home will expand coverage to more markets in the second half of this year. The company was vague on the details about when the rollout will begin for these 30 markets. It would have been better if the carrier was more forthcoming about the details but that’s just how it goes.

It won’t be long, though, as the carrier’s network has to go live before Samsung’s 5G Galaxy S10 is released in the first half of this year. It has already been confirmed that the 5G variant of Samsung’s new flagship will be a timed exclusive for Verizon.
