‘The Last Of Us 2’ Might Be Coming In 2020

It has been a while since Sony’s The Last of Us was released. The game was met with rave reviews and as such, many are highly-anticipating the release of its successor. At the moment, not much is known about the game, but we had heard that the final scene for it has been shot, suggesting that a release could be close at hand.

Some rumors have pegged it for a September release, while others have suggested an October release, but if recent reports are anything to go by, it seems that both could be wrong and that we might only see the game’s release in 2020. This is according to a report from Eurogamer who cites a recent interview that voice actor Ashley Johnson did with Critical Role.

Johnson, who voices the game’s protagonist Ellie, was asked when the game would be released. Johnson started to mouth the word “February” but was interrupted by the interviewer with a follow-up comment. This suggests that the game might only be coming in 2020 and there is some precedent to the speculation.

This is based on a tweet by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier who had previously revealed that a source had told him that Death Stranding would be coming in November this year, while The Last of Us 2 had been pushed to 2020, possibly in February. The source was right with Death Stranding’s release, which means that there is a chance that they could be right about The Last of Us 2’s release as well. Either way, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon.
