DJI’s Ronin-S Will Be Updated To Support Fujifilm’s X Cameras

The other day, DJI announced their new gimbal in the form of the DJI Ronin-SC. The camera came with partial support for Fujifilm cameras, a huge plus given that Fujifilm’s cameras can sometimes get overlooked by accessory makers. However, what about the Ronin-S, the predecessor of the Ronin-SC?

For those who are unfamiliar, DJI had previously launched a gimbal for mirrorless cameras in the form of the Ronin-S. The gimbal at that time did not support Fujifilm’s X-series of cameras, but the good news is that it looks like support will finally be on its way. In a tweet in response to a customer on Twitter, DJI noted that they are still working on the firmware for the Ronin-S that will bring support for Fujifilm’s mirrorless cameras.

Exactly when it will be arriving remains to be seen, but if you’re a Fujifilm user, this is good news. That being said, we should note that the Ronin-S appears to be priced higher than the Ronin-SC. Depending on the retailer, the Ronin-S is priced anywhere between $500-$700, while the Ronin-SC will be available from $439, so if you do use Fujifilm cameras, perhaps it might be a better idea to go for the Ronin-SC to save yourself some money.
