Bethesda Ends Development On The Elder Scrolls: Legends

Several years ago when Blizzard’s Hearthstone was at its peak, many companies started to create their own take on the game. Bethesda had attempted to do something similar based on the Elder Scrolls franchise in the form of The Elder Scrolls: Legends. However, fast forward to today, it seems that the company has decided to end development on the game.

In a post on the Legends subreddit, the game’s developer announced that they would no longer be proceeding with further development on the game. “We would like to provide an update on Legends in regard to new content. Our previous roadmap indicated we would be releasing one more set this year. We decided to put any new content development or releases on hold for the foreseeable future.”

So what does this mean for the game moving forwards? According to the developer, The Elder Scrolls: Legends will continue to be supported where monthly card rewards and regular in-game events will be taking place. However, in terms of new content like new expansions, that will no longer be happening.

It is unclear why Bethesda decided to end the further development of the game, but as a token of their appreciation for gamers who have been playing the game, they will be giving away The Tamriel Collection to all players for free upon their next login.
