Dell Alienware Aurora R13 Features New Intel Gen12 CPUs

Now that Intel has launched its new Alder Lake 12th generation processors, you can expect a flood of OEM launches, and Alienware has followed suit with the new Aurora R13 desktop gaming PC.

We’ve recently talked about the new Legend 2.0 chassis design of the Aurora 2021 line of products, and that’s what the Aurora R13 is using (check our link for all the details). It has superior cooling and airflow and “Cryo-Tech” liquid-cooling options (for a price).

Configurations vary from i5/8GB/256GB/GF GTX 1650 ($1479.99) to i9/64GB/1TB/RTX 3090 ($4649.99), and if you want the Core i9 version, you must also opt for 64GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD. I would have loved seeing more flexible configuration options, but it is what it is.

Depending on your configuration, you might be asked to pick a GPU: GTX 1650, RTX 3060/3070/3080/3090. Try for yourself with the configurator.

As we mentioned in our Intel Alder Lake coverage, the new CPU is much more power-efficient and introduces a discontinuity in Intel’s gaming processor lineup. If you held your purchase up to this point, this might be a good time to pull the trigger.

You can surely squeeze slightly more “bang for the buck” by building a DIY gaming rig, but some of the higher-end Alienware configurations are not too far-off, and you won’t have to lift a finger, except for clicking on the Buy button. Your call.
