Latest Reddit Update Makes The Platform Feel More Lively

Reddit is home to millions of users, many of whom are probably using the platform at the same time as you. In fact, if you hop on over to a subreddit, you can see how many users are online in the subreddit, but Reddit is hoping to make the platform a bit livelier by introducing a bunch of new features.

This includes new voting animations which will show users when vote counts go up and down in real-time, so you can see how many people might be giving a post an upvote or downvote live. This also applies to comments where you can see comments increase or decrease, giving you an indication of how popular a current post might be and how much discussion it could be generating.

Speaking of comments, there will also now be reading and typing indicators, where it will show how many people are currently reading a particular post, and how many people might be typing to comment on said post, so you know how active the current discussion is and if you might want to join in on the action.

There is also a new comment pill which notifies users whenever a new comment is posted, so tapping or clicking on the comment pill will take users to those comments and highlight them so that they know they are reading the latest comments. These changes to Reddit should already be live on the web as well as the iOS and Android updates, so check it out if you haven’t done so already.
