galaxy-s6-vs-galaxy-s6-edge_01With the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, it showed that Samsung was headed in an interesting and new direction in terms of design and features, which is why it does not come as a surprise to learn that apparently Samsung has managed to ship over 10 million Galaxy S6 handsets to date.

This is according to Korean news outlet Yonhap News who claims that the combined shipping of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have crossed the 10 million mark in terms of shipping. However we should note that this is just shipments and as we know, the amount of phones shipped is different from the amount of phones actually sold.

However it does indicate that there is a lot of demand for the handset so whether or not Samsung actually sold all 10 million handsets it’s still pretty impressive. That being said a report from last month revealed that the South Korean tech giant was actually planning on raising their sales estimates from 50 million to 70 million this year, and shipping 10 million units seems like a pretty good start.

In the meantime there are rumors floating about the Samsung could be thinking about launching the Galaxy Note 5 a little earlier than expected. We can’t be sure if that will affect the sales of Galaxy S6 handsets but for those longing for a larger display, the Galaxy Note 5 could be the device to watch out for.
