Shining and Speaking Poster

Shining and Speaking Poster

Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. of Japan has come up with something revolutionary which could change the way advertising works – the “Shining & Speaking Poster” that merges the functionality of an OLED panel, an inorganic EL panel and a panel-like flat speaker. While the OLED panel will go about its business by displaying textual information, the inorganic EL panel functions as a backlight source, emitting light from the back of the color-printed film to provide it with animation-like effects. As for the panel-like speaker, it relies on a diaphragm design that vibrates air to transmit audio is used. The diaphragm itself is no thicker than 5mm and relies on a drive circuit called “exciter” to get its work done. Talk about being interactive – the next step would be multitouch posters, but that is probably years ahead in terms of practicality.
