Motion sensor within phones lets boss know where you are

Unless you’re your own boss, you ought to be wary of any new cellphone which the company awards you simply because of “exceptional performance” at the workplace. Why do we say so? KDDi Japan has come up with a new method of monitoring employee activity – they use data from the acceleration sensor which is already found within selected cellphones. This acceleration sensor is able to detect simple moments such as running and walking, and when combined with an analytical server, it is capable of detecting complex moments. This lets the person in charge to know just what you’re doing (more or less) at that point in time. Good thing it still can’t detect office gossip, eh?
