Panasonic Lumix GH2 with 3D lens, hands-on

[CEATEC 2010] The Panasonic GH2 is a great little camera, but Panasonic was demonstrating a 3D lens at the Ceatec show. The lens has two smaller lens, and while it’s not clear what the sensor actually “sees”, what we know is that the user has immediate access to a stereo 3D image right after snapping the photo (it could have been dual-jpgs, or one jpg with left/right images completely separated). The GH2 might have gotten a software upgrade to do that. We’re not quite sure what the final file format is, so the compatibility with 3rd party apps is still an active question. In the meantime, that lens is definitely cool-looking. [Photos courtesy of Giiks]
