Samsung Solstice II announced for AT&T

If you love sequels, be it movies, video games, books or (gasp!) cellphones, then you might want to check out the Samsung Solstice II from AT&T. It won’t move the heavens or change the earth at all, but offers yet another mid-range handset to the masses with the Samsung TouchWIZ user interface skin running on top of the operating system. Equipped with a QWERTY side-sliding keyboard, it will definitely find favor in the eyes of frequent messagers. Other features include a 3-inch WQVGA (240×400 pixels) touchscreen display, a 2-megapixel camera (bah!), 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and a microSD memory card slot for expansion services. Like any other good AT&T-branded phone, this one boasts AT&T Social Net, AT&T Navigator, and AT&T Music and Radio with the option to download apps from AT&T AppCenter. The price to pay? An extremely reasonable $29.99 with a 2-year contract. Targeted to roll out this November 7th, this seems to be a pretty decent basic phone, although we would have liked a higher megapixel count in the camera department.
