Blitzer railgun prepped and is tactically relevant

Just a short while since the US Navy boasted of their railgun that fired off shots at Mach 7 speeds, along comes a different railgun known as “Blitzer”. Blitzer has already started to carry out firings that point towards it being almost combat ready, thanks to famous radical-tech company General Atomics who are well known for their development of robot warplanes and electromagnetic mass-driver catapults for aircraft carriers. Blitzer will not concentrate so much on ultimate velocity and muzzle energy, but will instead be more about proving a viable weapon. While its projectiles will zoom along at only Mach 5, they are a whole lot more advanced towards being actual munitions. Well, it seems that the world will become a less peaceful place with such weapons in place, or do you think they will act as a deterrent?
