Patriot Supersonic USB flash drive touches USB 3.0 mark

With a name like Patriot Supersonic for a USB flash drive, you can be sure that it is travesty if it does not sport USB 3.0 connectivity. Good thing for folks who purchased it then that that is the case. Theoretically, the Patriot Supersonic series does seem to do pretty well with its 100MB/s read and 70MB/s write performance rating, although it is nothing out of the ordinary as Kingston and Super Talent have released something like it already. Interestingly enough, this flash drive will not require a NAND flash controller and a USB bridge chip, as it is a single chip solution. One advantage of the Patriot Supersonic is its size which is smaller than the rest, where it will run cooler compared to the competition. No word on pricing, but it will be available in 32GB and 64GB capacities from next year onwards.
