Windows Phone 7 devices rely on 3G data despite being on Wi-Fi?

Could this be true? Windows Phone 7 devices are connected to a  3G network despite being touted to run off a Wi-Fi connection? That’s what more and more customers are buzzing about, that their Windows Phone 7 devices seem to consume a whole lot more 3G data  than expected, up to 2MB per hour – that adds up to nearly 1.5GB of additional data per month despite being on home Wi-Fi connections. Will Microsoft address this alleged issue? Hopefully, and in the upcoming Windows Phone 7 update to boot. Well, here’s something you might want to try out – disable data services and connect purely to a Wi-Fi network – perhaps that will work?
