Sigma DP2x compact camera with Foveon X3 sensor

If you don’t like following the crowd when it comes to photography, perhaps you’d like to check out what Sigma is offering. The company has just introduced a high-end compact camera in the form of the DP2x. The feature that sets this camera apart from the rest will be its large 14-megapixel Foveon X3 sensor that Sigma claims is about 12 times larger than what is generally found in cameras of this size, allowing the camera to capture richer colors and more light. The camera is bundled with a 24.2mm f/2.8 lens and users are given the option of capturing photos in JPEG or RAW. Video capture is rather disappointing since it records at a 320 x 240 pixel resolution and lacks image stabilization. You are given a nine-point autofocus system and an ISO range of 100 to 3200. Pricing and release information weren’t given, so we’ll just have to be patient.
