Motorola purchases Dreampark

Is it open season to purchase companies, with AT&T swallowing up T-Mobile for a whopping $39 billion? We now hear of Motorola forking out dough for IPTV software developer Dreampark. While no financial details were revealed, it is widely expected that the deal will come to a close later this spring. The Swedish company has always used open standards like HTML as well as scalable vector graphics (SVG) and offer software development kits which allows carriers to custom tailor the connected TV offerings. It is quite likely that swallowing up Dreampark into Motorola’s operations will probably result in the integration of Motorola’s Medios service management software suite. Motorola might very well use Dreampark’s technology see action across multiple connected devices, including portable and home-based ones.
