Sprint Kyocera Echo Android phone passes the FCC

It’s been some time since the Kyocera Echo was announced by Sprint, and according to the reports, the dual-screen Android smartphone has made its way through the offices of the FCC. This can only be a good sign and might mean that it won’t be too long before we see it on sale. The Kyocera Echo is the first dual-screen cellphone in the US and will go on sale for $199.99 with a 2-year contract on Sprint. This dual 3.5″ screen phone packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.2, and has access to special apps that make use of its dual-screen display. It can also function as a single screen phone and dual-screen mode in both portrait and horizontal mode, depending on the app. The approval of the phone at the FCC means that it should arrive on time (it was slated for a spring release) this year.
