This means Microsoft will stop synchronizing data of My Phone-configured Windows Mobile 6.x handsets with the My Phone service from August 7th onwards, where user data will no longer be backed up to the My Phone service then. The company will also start the automatic migration of contact, calendar, texts and photos from the My Phone service to Windows Live SkyDrive. Other items such as videos, music, documents, tasks and browser favorites will remain and not make the migration, so the onus is on you to download these data types for yourself before October 6th. The My Phone website will experience a killswitch being pulled on that date.
Those who are unable to do so by October can always ping Microsoft for a CD or DVD containing all data saved to their My Phone account until October, 2012.
